Clifford Essex Paragon Deluxe Plectrum sn. 1002 . What an amazing story. Derek owned his Tenor De Luxe banjo over 10 yrs ago. It went it to Guenter Amendt in 1994 who in turn sent it to the prolific Japanese Collecter Akira Tsumura along with Derek's Paragon De Luxe Plectrum pictured below.
After all these years both banjo's found their way to Bernunzio Vintage Instruments in Rochester N.Y. Even more amazing is that both Banjo's are back with Derek (2 De Luxe's) I recommend a tour of Derek's web site to see some other fine instruments in his collection www.banjocollector.com
To Quote Derek "I have always been keen on the Paragon instruments and met Marco Roccia long after he retired from Clifford Essex.
I was told that a total of 25 Deluxe  banjos were made most of these were plectrum, with a few five strings and very few Tenors".
